Former UN Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), Current Chair of the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) Task Force

H.E. Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas is the Chair of the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) Task Force and former UN Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS). A seasoned diplomat, academic, and international civil servant, he has held several high-level positions within ECOWAS, the African Union, and the United Nations. Dr. Chambas is widely recognized for his leadership in peacebuilding, governance, and regional integration across Africa.
